The New England Patriots just beat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers a couple of days ago, but they will be back in action against the New York Jets on Thursday Night Football in Week 11. When they return to action, though, they will be without several key players.

Running back Rhamondre Stevenson, wide receiver Kayshon Boutte and linebacker Christian Elliss all missed the Pats’ win over the Bucs, and they have all been ruled out ahead of this game as well. In addition to them, tight end Austin Hooper will miss this game with a concussion.

One guy whose status is up in the air ahead of this one is running back Terrell Jennings. Against Tampa Bay, Jennings was forced out of the game early with a knee injury, and while he hasn’t had much time to recover from his ailment, reports indicate he’s on track to suit up against the Jets.

“Terrell Jennings … he is dealing with a knee injury. I’m told he is expected to go for the Patriots,” Ian Rapoport said on “Good Morning Football.”

Jennings actually drew the start over TreVeyon Henderson against the Buccaneers, but he picked up just five yards on four carries before his exit. Considering how Henderson is healthier and ended up running for 147 yards and two touchdowns in Week 10, chances are he will take on a bigger workload than Jennings in this one.

Regardless of whether or not Jennings ends up playing, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see D’Ernest Johnson elevated from the practice squad to the active roster to give New England some more depth at running back in this one. It will be worth checking in on Jennings’ final status before kickoff, but he seems to be trending in the right direction currently.
