The past few days have been absolutely chaotic for the Indianapolis Colts, especially with starting quarterback Daniel Jones sidelined for the rest of the season due to a torn Achilles.

Jones will become a free agent at the end of the season. Even if the Colts decide to re-sign him, they will likely need to bring in another quarterback who can start until Jones is ready to return.

Tyler Drake from Arizona Sports.com thinks Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray could be a good fit. He also named former Patriots quarterback Mac Jones as a possible option.

“Mac Jones, who is likely going to garner some interest this offseason for his play in place of the injured Brock Purdy, is another possibility,” Drake wrote on Monday.”

Jones has appeared in 10 games this season, starting eight for the San Francisco 49ers. He has thrown for 2,151 yards and 13 scores.

The Colts would have to trade for Jones since he signed a two-year contract in the spring.

Indianapolis traded its first-round picks for 2026 and 2027 to the New York Jets this season in exchange for cornerback Sauce Gardner. Given that the Colts won’t have a chance to draft a quarterback in the first round for the next two seasons, looking to trade a Day 2 or even a Day 3 pick for Jones might be the most viable option.
