    Will McNeal (36 saves) stood on his head to earn a shutout for Chelmsford, backing goals from Aidan Kenney and Connor Melville as part of a 2-0 boys hockey win against Essex Tech.

    Evan Shea scored twice while Will Lievi (goal, assist), Bryce Campanile (goal, assist) and Jaxon Hoey (two assists) all posted two points for Norwell (5-1-1), fueling the attack in a 4-0 win over Newton South to take the Raider Cup championship.

    Tommy O’Brien scored his first varsity goal in a two-goal, one-assist showing, leading Walpole to a 4-1 nonleague win over Norwood alongside a goal and three assists from Aidan Hoyle.

    Boys basketball

    In the David Green Memorial Tournament, John Lupien dropped 19 points, earning MVP honors as North Reading (4-2) defeated Winthrop in the championship, 67-63. … Eighth-grader Jackson Hines scored 22 points and Alden Poage added 18 points as Arlington Catholic (4-1) defeated Excel Academy in a consolation bout, 84-54.

    Chris McSweeney and Kyle McSweeney combined for 31 points to pace Cohasset to a 63-47 victory over nonleague foe Collegiate Charter Lowell. … Guards led the way for Madison Park in a 75-63 win over North Quincy, as junior Mekei Sumter scored 23 points, senior Aneudy Belle-Garcia added 19 points and CJ Allen had 14 points. … Charlie Williams’ 23 points were complemented by 14 points from Nick Fein and 13 more from Keegan O’Hare, helping Norwell edge Greater New Bedford, 71-68.

    Josh Roux (28 points) couldn’t be stopped for Andover, erupting on offense as part of a 59-53 win over Greater Lawrence in the Commonwealth Motors Christmas Classic’s third-place game.     In the 3E Moving & Storage Greater Lowell Holiday Classic, Teddy Hirbour put up 15 points, eight rebounds, and had two steals, which landed him on the All-Tournament team, as Westford Academy defeated Leominster 55-37.

    In the Big Blue Holiday Tournament championship, Teddy O’Neill scored 31 points while Connor Chiarello added 19 points to lead Swampscott past Hamilton-Wenham, 60-48.

    Girls basketball

    In a nonleague game, Jazzy Hancock scored 14 points while Meredith Gibbs added 10 points, seven rebounds, and five steals to lead Dover-Sherborn to a 47-17 victory over Dennis-Yarmouth. … Alana MacLean led with 21 points, pairing with freshman Leah Hanley (11 points, 12 rebounds) and sophomore Kailey VonHandorf (13 points, six rebounds) to power Fontbonne (3-1) for a 69-35 win over Cardinal Spellman.

    In the Scituate Holiday Tournament, Olivia Bourne scored 13 points as Middleboro defeated Ursuline Academy, 50-47.
