    Ava Vitti exploded for a career-high 41 points to power Ashland girls basketball past Dover-Sherborn, 72-40, in Tri-Valley League action.

    Teagan Resteghini (17 points) and Gabby Simulus (16 points) fueled Hopkinton in a 60-32 TVL win over Bellingham. … Tess Baacke (17 points, four steals), Naya Annigeri (17 points, six steals) and Abby Broderick (15 points) paced things for Medfield in a 59-32 win over Norwood.

    Lindsey Barber scored a career-high 21 points as the Dartmouth girls basketball team avenged a loss earlier this season by knocking off New Bedford, 49-41, in a nonleague contest. … Sam Ward (20 points, 10 rebounds) led a strong rebounding performance and Cecilia Tripp (eight points) had a strong defensive showing to help Swampscott (5-2) outlast Somerville, 43-39. Sophomore Anna Kander added 10 points and six assists in the win. … Cailey Kelleher poured in 14 points, while Molly Lucas had eight points as Rockland (4-2) rolled to a 52-20 win over Cardinal Spellman.

    Freshman Maya King scored 10 points to guide Blue Hills (4-2) to a 32-30 overtime win against Mayflower Athletic Conference foe Westport.

    Angie Djoko notched a double-double with 18 points, 10 rebounds and three steals, while Kendal Murphy tallied 12 points, five rebounds and three steals as Danvers came from behind to defeat Beverly 59-46 in the Northeastern Conference.

    Muji Vader put up 15 points, while Lily Buono finished with 14 points as Minuteman (3-0) cruised to a 52-16 Commonwealth Athletic Conference victory over Nashoba Tech.

    Kaylee Maier registered 19 points, while Lilly White chipped in with 13 points as Dracut (5-1) took down Lawrence 55-28 in Merrimack Valley Conference action.

    Boys basketball

    Stephen Saber (20 points) and Ronan Sullivan (10 points) paced Dover-Sherborn (3-3) in a 70-32 Tri-Valley League victory over Ashland. … Senior Cooper Firmani poured in 19 points and sophomore Nick Flannery added 13 points, leading Holliston (5-1) to a 63-56 win over Millis. … Thomas Behrmann (31 points, four steals) and Owen Armstrong (17 points, six assists) guided Medfield to a 76-57 win over Norwood.

    Teddy O’Neill lit up the scoreboard with 29 points, pairing with 19 points from Connor Chiarello to anchor Swampscott (6-0) in a 63-55 nonleague win over Lynn Tech. … Liam Conneely (13 points) and Christian Truglia (12 points) led the way for Hull in a 60-20 victory over Falmouth Academy.

    Ben Secord notched 16 points and seven rebounds, Vlad Francoeur added 14 points, six rebounds and four assists, and Greg Katznelson chipped in 14 points and six rebounds as Canton earned a well-rounded, 63-49 win over Sharon in the Hockomock League.

    Kingston Maxwell turned in a double-double (29 points, 10 rebounds), while Tyler Staiti (five rebounds) and Kyle Duggan scored 10 points each as Abington (6-2) defeated Cohasset 64-41 in South Shore League action.

    Cam Skinner scored 17 points and grabbed 11 rebounds, propelling Blue Hills to a 52-30 Mayflower Athletic Conference win over Westport.

    Boys hockey

    Jack Melly’s two goals led three different scorers that lit the lamp for Reading (5-0-1) as it blanked Woburn, 4-0, in Middlesex League Liberty action.

    Senior Shane Peters scored and dished an assist to lead Lowell in a well-balanced 3-1 nonleague win over Keefe Tech. … Tegan Bellew (goal, two assists) had a hand in three goals for Cohasset/Hull, which also saw Taighe Dwyer score twice in a 5-2 win over Dennis-Yarmouth. … Colin Allard showed out with two goals and two assists for Wilmington in a 5-1 win over South Shore Tech.

    Brandon Garzia stood on his head with a 31-save shutout, backing a goal and assist apiece from Jordan Sousa and Timmy O’Malley as Hudson topped Oakmont, 3-0.

    Girls hockey
