Things are crazy at Ole Miss these days. So crazy, apparently, that they’re comparable to living next to Aaron Hernandez when he was arrested for murder.

At least, that’s what Joe Judge said Tuesday night.

Judge, who coached for the Patriots for parts of 10 seasons throughout the 2010s and early 2020s, currently works as the quarterbacks coach for Ole Miss. He and the Rebels are set to play Miami on Thursday night in a College Football Playoff semifinal matchup.

However, nobody knows what Ole Miss’s coaching staff will look like Thursday night, as multiple staffers reportedly could bolt to join Lane Kiffin at LSU. You can click here if you need to read a refresher on that entire fiasco.

Anyway, Judge was asked to share his thoughts on the uncertainty surrounding the Rebels as they prepare for arguably the biggest game in program history. He answered by making one hell of a comparison.

“My next-door neighbor was Aaron Hernandez — I know this is still more chaotic,” Judge said, via CBS Sports’ Brandon Marcello.

That’s one way to put it!

Judge overlapped with Hernandez in 2012, the tight end’s third and final NFL season. Hernandez was arrested the following offseason, convicted of murder in 2015, and died in prison in 2017.

Ole Miss and Miami will kick off the Fiesta Bowl at 7:30 p.m. ET on Thursday. The winner will advance to the College Football National Championship Game.
