There is taking care of the next generation, then there is this gesture from former Miami Dolphins and New Orleans Saints left tackle Terron Armstead.

Armstead was selected in the third round of the 2013 NFL Draft by the Saints. He spent nine years in New Orleans before signing with the Miami Dolphins, where he was selected to two more Pro Bowls before retiring in 2024.

Had it not been for injuries, the former All-Pro might have put together a Hall of Fame legacy in 12 NFL seasons.

New England Patriots rookie Will Campbell was born in Monroe, La., where he grew up attending Saints games at the Superdome and, likely, watching Armstead’s play closely.

Although there is no known relationship between the two, NFL Network’s Cameron Wolfe revealed that the retired Armstead has reached out to Campbell and is extending an invitation for the rookie to prepare for his second NFL season in Dallas, Texas, with him.

Armstead also explained what he believes held Campbell back in his rookie season.

“It was his set,” Armstead said. “He’s having issues with power (and) his timing with the punches.

“He actually volunteered to have Will Campbell work out with him, Terron Armstead did, in Dallas this summer. He said he believes his issues are fixable.”

It is important to remember that, excluding the playoff run in which Campbell played with a torn ligament in his knee, the rookie held his own at left tackle for much of his first year.

He allowed only five sacks and committed just seven penalties in his 782 snaps at LT.

That being said, I speak for all of Patriots Nation when I say I hope he accepts the generous invitation from the Lousiana legend.
