The Boston Bruins had a busy weekend with the 2025 NHL Draft and the signings of their unrestricted and restricted free agents.

The Bruins signed forward Marat Khusnutdinov to a two-year contract extension through the 2026-27 season with an annual cap hit of $925,000, the team announced on Sunday.

Boston also signed defenseman Michael Callahan to a one-year, two-way contract through the 2025-26 season with an NHL cap hit of $775,000.

The 22-year-old Khusnutdinov was acquired in a trade with the Minnesota Wild in exchange for forward Justin Brazeau. In 75 games split between the Wild and Bruins, Khusnutdinov recorded five goals and seven assists for 12 points. The 5-foot-11, 176-pound forward has played in 91 NHL career games, totaling six goals and 10 assists for 16 points.

The 25-year-old Callahan split the season between AHL Providence and the NHL club. He skated in 17 games with Boston during the 2024-25 season, recording one goal. He spent the majority of the season in Providence, playing in 45 games, tallying one goal and eight assists for nine points. The 6-foot-2, 197-pound defenseman has played in 185 career games with Providence, scoring seven goals and 29 assists for 36 points.
