The Patriots shuffled their practice squad Thursday, adding ex-Chiefs defensive tackle Fabien Lovett, ex-Giants and Rams defensive lineman Cory Durden, journeyman defensive back Corey Ballentine and ex-Steelers linebacker Mark Robinson.

Lovett is in his second season after spending last year on Kansas City’s practice squad. Durden crossed paths with high-ranking Patriots executives in recent years: vice president of player personnel Ryan Cowden (Giants) and vice president of football operations and strategy John Streicher (Rams). Ballentine is the most experienced of the four players, having played seven seasons with the Giants (2019-20), Jets (2020) Lions (2021) and Packers (2022-24). Robinson spent the past three years in Pittsburgh after entering the league as a seventh-round pick in 2022.

The Pats released three undrafted rookies to make room: tight end Gee Scott Jr., linebacker Cam Riley and defensive back Brandon Crossley. All three signed to the Patriots’ practice squad Wednesday.
