Getting back to the postseason always calls for a champagne-soaked party! And getting there for the first time in four years is especially meaningful. Take a look at what happened last night!

First everyone got their brand new October Baseball shirts on, and took a photo with the backdrop of the Monster behind them.

Then everybody made their way into the clubhouse and got ready to pop bottles! Alex Cora made a speech and at its conclusion, the party was on:

    There were interviews:

“I’m never scared — never. … I promised the fans that we would bring a championship here and that’s what we want. This is nothing yet.”

“When this group executes, I believe that we’re the best team in the league — absolutely. We shouldn’t go into it with any other mindset.”

“It’s amazing, bro. … We have a window to be really good for a long time and it starts with this. I’ve been waiting awhile to do this. To do it with this group means everything to me.”

Ceddanne Rafaela and Wilyer Abreu both briefly went live on Instagram to chronicle bits of the party.

Then the shirts started coming off, and some players made their way back onto the field:

And then a few guys ran past the Bleacher Bar fence to show the fans there some love!

And that was mostly that. A few more interviews, a few more cigars smoked, a few more beers chugged, and the night came to a close. There’s another game to be played today, after all, but the stakes couldn’t be lower. It may be the Hungover Game, but the Sox can have that. For the first time it what feels like eons to many, they’re staying for October.
