New York Giants wide receiver Malik Nabers underwent successful surgery on Tuesday, marking a key step in his recovery from a devastating knee injury. The procedure repaired Nabers’s torn ACL and addressed related damage, providing hope for G-Men fans amid the team’s challenging campaign. Now, all eyes turn to Nabers’s timeline for a full return next year.

Nabers’ injury occurred in Week 4 against the Los Angeles Chargers, sidelining the 22-year-old star and robbing fans (momentarily) of an electric partnership between Nabers and rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart.

Further testing on Nabers revealed not only a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in his right knee but also a torn meniscus, a partially torn labrum, and turf toe. This complex damage prompted a deliberate delay in surgery—nearly a month—to ensure comprehensive treatment, a decision endorsed by medical experts.

Update: Earlier today, wide receiver Malik Nabers underwent successful surgery to repair a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL). He will begin his rehabilitation program upon his hospital discharge tomorrow.

Realistically, Nabers should be fully cleared for the start of the 2026 season. NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported on Tuesday that Nabers is on track for that. Orthopedic surgeons note a standard 9-12 month ACL recovery, positioning him for training camp participation and reintegration into the lineup. At his young age, Nabers has a good chance to return to full strength and get his career rolling once again in 2026.

The Giants, meanwhile, sit at 2-6 entering their bye week, mired in fourth place in the NFC East with 173 points scored against 215 allowed. Head coach Brian Daboll’s squad has battled injuries and inconsistency. Losing Nabers amplified their aerial struggles, forcing reliance on unproven depth.

As Nabers attacks rehab, Giants Nation can exhale, at least those who are patient. Nabers’s successful surgery paves the way for brighter days ahead for the franchise.
