The New England Patriots are putting the NFL on notice during a dominant stretch. More fans will soon have the opportunity to watch Mike Vrabel’s squad.

CBS Sports confirmed on Thursday that its main broadcasting team will call New England’s Week 10 matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Play-by-play announcer Jim Nantz, color commentator Tony Romo and sideline reporter Tracy Wolfson will work the Nov. 9 matchup at Raymond James Stadium, which starts at 1 p.m. ET.

It’s been a while since CBS has given New England a national showcase. ESPN’s Mike Reiss noted that the network’s “A” team hasn’t broadcast a Patriots game since they lost to the Las Vegas Raiders on Oct. 15, 2023.

Nantz frequently called Patriots games during the Tom Brady and Bill Belichick era, but the Kansas City Chiefs have filled that role. Naturally, Nantz and Romo will announce this Sunday’s marquee AFC showdown between the Chiefs and Buffalo Bills.

Earlier this month, the NFL flexed the Patriots out of Fox’s 4:25 p.m. ET slot for a Week 6 game against the New Orleans Saints. The more prominent billing instead went to the Buccaneers, who defeated Mac Jones and the San Francisco 49ers.

Next weekend’s game between New England and Tampa Bay won’t have the same emotional stakes as their last encounter, as Tom Brady returned to Gillette Stadium to lead a Buccaneers win in 2021. Yet each team could ride a considerable wave of momentum into the Week 10 bout.

The Patriots and Buccaneers each lead their respective divisions at 6-2. Baker Mayfield drew early MVP buzz before Drake Maye began garnering more support in recent weeks.

Tampa Bay represents New England’s stiffest challenger until Mike Vrabel’s team plays the Bills and Baltimore Ravens in December. The Patriots will first play another NFC South matchup against the Atlanta Falcons this Sunday at 1 p.m. ET.
