The Boston Celtics moved into second place in the Eastern Conference standings on Monday night with a 115-101 win over the Chicago Bulls at TD Garden. The Celtics are now 23-12 on the season.
Anfernee Simons led the Celtics in scoring with 27 points, his career-high in a Boston uniform. Simons has scored 25 points twice in his young Celtics career, but he bested that mark against Chicago on 8-of-14 shooting from 3 in 27 minutes off of Joe Mazzulla’s bench.
Payton Pritchard added 21 points to go along with six rebounds, five assists, and zero turnovers.
It was a quieter scoring night for Boston’s usual suspects with Jaylen Brown scoring 14 points and Derrick White contributing just 10. They helped in other ways, Brown had eight rebounds and four assists. White had six boards, seven assists, and three steals.
Celtics center Neemias Queta impressed with a double-double of 13 points and 13 rebounds.

The ultra-athletic Matas Buzelis led the Bulls in scoring with 26 points on 3-of-4 from 3.
The Celtics have three games left on this home stand. First up is the Denver Nuggets on Wednesday, followed by visits from the Toronto Raptors (Friday) and San Antonio Spurs (Saturday).
