It’s a rare light wind day on the coast of Prince Edward Island and I’m setting up to tee off on one the many jaw-dropping view holes at the Links at Crowbush Cove in rustic and rural Morell. The sound of crashing waves calms me and the salty sea air is just the right amount of cool on this super sunny fall day. I swing, strike and land it on the fairway right where I wanted it. But you know what? Had I shanked it, I’d still be filled with golfer’s joy. As a player who loves the whole experience…

Take a deep breath, Boston Red Sox fans. On Wednesday, the New York Yankees were eliminated from World Series contention by the Toronto Blue Jays in four games. Toronto took Game 4, 5-2. Cam Schlittler started the game for New York, one week after he dominated the Red Sox in the Wild Card round. The rookie pitched well, but the Blue Jays fouled off pitches and put the ball in play consistently. Schlittler struck out just two and allowed four runs over 6 1/3 innings. The turning point in the game came in the seventh inning. With the Blue Jays…

BOSTON (WHDH) – The Marco Sturm era is set to begin in the nation’s capital Wednesday night, and the Bruins’ new head coach is preaching patience for a franchise that’s coming off a last place finish for the first time in 18 seasons.“I’m not gonna say we gotta make the playoffs or we gotta be in a playoffs spot in November, we this and that, no no no,” Sturm said. “I want to see us grow… I want my players to play that way, we all want them to play and get that identity back.”It hasn’t taken very long for…
New England Patriots defensive end/linebacker K’Lavon Chaisson missed the team’s Week 5 “Sunday Night Football” upset over the Buffalo Bills due to a knee injury. The LSU product returned to practice on Wednesday, however, four days ahead of the group’s Week 6 contest vs. the New Orleans Saints. ESPN’s Mike Reiss provided an update on both Chaisson and defensive end Keion White. “DE Keion White, who had a sleeve over his right elbow, worked to the side on conditioning during media-access portion of Patriots practice. White didn’t finish Sunday’s game due to injury,” Reiss posted on Bluesky. “Meanwhile, DE K’Lavon…
FOXBORO — If Terrell Jennings is called upon to play Sunday, he’s confident he’ll be ready. The Patriots’ practice-squad running back could be the next up on the depth chart with Antonio Gibson out due to a knee injury suffered Sunday night in Buffalo. “That’s my brother, man,” Jennings told NBC Sports Boston. “It definitely hurts me to see my brother go down like that, but I wouldn’t be a good brother if I went out there and didn’t do my job. That’s what I want to do for him: do my job, and show him that there’s no drop-off and…
FOXBORO — Expect Terrell Jennings to get the first crack at replacing injured running back Antonio Gibson in the Patriots’ offense. Jennings, who’s currently on the practice squad, said he is “definitely” ready to play if he’s elevated from the practice squad to play the Saints this week. “I train every day. I’m sitting in the meeting rooms with all the guys every day, so it’s not really a difference,” Jennings said. “I’m ready when my number is called always.” Jennings called it an “exciting” opportunity, despite his teammate and good friend’s season-ending knee injury. The Florida A&M product played…
WASHINGTON, DC—The Bruins tied up their final loose end in their leadership group. After David Pastrnak and Charlie McAvoy were named alternate captains over the summer, Hampus Lindholm was named the third alternate in a team meeting on Tuesday. It wasn’t necessarily a big surprise but it was still meaningful. “You have you’re feelings that it might come but then obviously when it’s announced like that it’s special. I’m honored to wear it and excited about the season to start here,” said Lindholm after the B’s morning skate at Capital One Arena prior to the season opener against the Capitals.…
Tom Brady is high on the New England Patriots after their Week 5 upset win over the Buffalo Bills — but how high? Well, Brady put the Patriots in the No. 10 spot in his latest NFL power rankings, which were shared Tuesday in a video posted to X by FOX Sports. Brady, who only ranked the top 10 teams, didn’t offer thoughts on the Patriots, as he reserved most of his commentary for teams in the top five. Here are Brady’s top 10 teams: 1. Detroit Lions (4-1)2. Philadelphia Eagles (4-1)3. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (4-1)4. Buffalo Bills (4-1)5. Jacksonville…
