In their third state final appearance in four years, the Buccaneers captured the title by defeating the team it lost to in last year’s final, Weston, at MIT for the MIAA Division 3 state championship. For Bedford (15-4) it was the first state title since 2015 and its third ever. The Buccaneers won the Division 2 championship in 2002. Earlier this weekend Red Sox manager Alex Cora said the hope was that Tanner Houck would bounce back from his most recent bullpen session well enough to begin a rehab assignment next week.
