Believe it or not, the NBA regular season is only 55 days away.

Most teams are still sculpting their rosters, which makes the list of available unrestricted free agents as relevant as ever.

Who’s still out there, and specifically, who is the best UFA at each position?

    Center: Al Horford (39)

Is Horford signing with the Golden State Warriors, or what? While Al to GSW seemed like a done deal earlier in the summer, the latest intel indicates that nothing can happen until the Dubs sort out their contract situation with Jonathan Kuminga. Once that domino falls, a Horford deal may follow, but the former Boston Celtics champion may also retire and enjoy a much-deserved vacation in the Dominican Republic.

    Power Forward: Bol Bol (26)

It’s tempting to go with an aging vet here, as there are three great names to choose from: James Johnson (38), PJ Tucker (40) and Markieff Morris (35). Each of these guys is a season or two over the hill at this point, though, whereas Bol might be about to take a leap in his development. It would behoove Bol to join a team that will give him regular rotation minutes. The Charlotte Hornets would be a nice fit, although they have a roster surplus right now.

    Small Forward: Cam Reddish (26)

Reddish is the most naturally gifted of the available small forward UFAs. He still hasn’t delivered on his potential, but perhaps the right team can unlock the best that Reddish has to offer. If he fails to produce at his next stop, Reddish’s stock will suffer a dramatic drop.

    Shooting Guard: Malik Beasley

The New York Knicks and Cleveland Cavaliers reportedly “checked in” about Beasley recently, now that he’s no longer the target of a federal investigation. Legal issues aside, he’s the best asset on this entire list (regardless of his position) based on his three-point prowess last year for the Detroit Pistons and the suggestion that he may be acquirable for a minimum salary.

    Point Guard: Malcolm Brogdon

Russell Westbrook, Ben Simmons and even Markelle Fultz are more viral names, but Brogdon is the answer here. Honorable mention goes to Delon Wright and Reggie Jackson, although Wright is more of a two guard who can survive handling the ball if he needs to. Brogdon is only two seasons removed from winning Sixth Man of the Year with the Celtics. He’s younger than people think at 32.
