From “Action Green” to … no green at all.
The Celtics’ 2025-26 City Edition uniforms, unveiled Wednesday, are both a more subdued look that last season’s highlighter-esque offering and a new direction for the storied franchise.
Featuring gold numbers and letters with black trim on a white jersey, it’s the first uniform in Celtics history that is completely devoid of the color green.
The collar also is gold, as is Red Auerbach’s signature above the jersey tag.
“This year’s City Edition jerseys are a nod to our timeless tradition of winning,” the team said in its announcement. “… A white base accented with gold representing success, achievement and triumph. The word mark and number set are trimmed in black, making this our first uniform to not feature green.”

The Celtics have yet to announce when this City Edition set will make its first on-court appearance.
Boston will continue to wear its classic home white and road green jerseys, along with the black alternates that have been part of its rotation since the 2017-18 season.
