The Celtics’ ongoing roster revamp continued Sunday with another minor transaction.

Boston waived wing Miles Norris, who joined the team on a two-way contract late last season. Most of Norris’ playing time came with the Maine Celtics in the G League, but he did make three appearances with the big club, totaling seven points, nine rebounds, two steals and one block over 35 NBA minutes.

Norris, who previously spent time with Atlanta’s and Memphis’ G League affiliates, played for the Celtics’ Summer League squad last month, averaging 21.8 minutes per game across four appearances in Las Vegas. The lanky 25-year-old struggled as a shooter during the tournament, making just 36.8% of his field goals and 25.0% of his 3-pointers. He averaged 9.3 points, 4.3 rebounds, 1.3 steals and 0.8 blocks per game for the Summer C’s.

Releasing Norris freed up one of the Celtics’ three two-way contract slots, which they could use to sign second-round rookie center Amari Williams. Celtics vice president of basketball operations Mike Zarren said after the draft that the team expected to sign Williams to a two-way deal, but the Kentucky product remained unsigned as of Monday.

Guard Max Shulga and wing RJ Luis Jr. occupy the other two two-way spots. Shulga was the Celtics’ final 2025 draft pick (57th overall out of VCU). Luis, an undrafted rookie who played at UMass and St. John’s, arrived last week in a trade for veteran Georges Niang, whom Boston sent to Utah along with two future second-rounders in a salary dump.

The Celtics also confirmed the signing of veteran forward Chris Boucher, who agreed to terms last week to fill Niang’s spot on the 15-man roster. Boston has 14 rostered players following the release of point guard JD Davison. It could choose to keep the final spot vacant entering the season to avoid additional luxury tax penalties.

Of the 18 players who appeared in a game for the Celtics last season, nine are no longer with the franchise: Kristaps Porzingis, Jrue Holiday, Luke Kornet, Al Horford, Torrey Craig, Jaden Springer, Drew Peterson, Davison and Norris. Jayson Tatum also is expected to miss most or all of the upcoming season as he recovers from a ruptured Achilles.
