The Boston Celtics held on in a back-and-forth affair Wednesday night to snap the Detroit Pistons’ 13-game win streak.
Derrick White dropped a season-high 27 points with six 3-pointers. Jaylen Brown led the C’s with 33 points.
Cade Cunningham scored a game-high 42 points for Detroit, but the MVP candidate failed to send the game to overtime when given the opportunity. With four seconds left in regulation, he had a chance to tie the game with three free throws but missed on the third attempt.
The Celtics are now 2-2 in NBA Cup group play. They will look to stay hot when they visit the Minnesota Timberwolves on Saturday.
