The Miami Dolphins made some major changes on Monday.

Miami reportedly started shedding salary with the release of two of its three highest paid players: wide receiver Tyreek Hill and defensive lineman Bradley Chubb, according to NFL Media’s Tom Pelissero.

Hill, 31, is recovering from season-ending knee surgery and now will be an unrestricted free agent for the first time in his career — with the eventual move making it possible for the eight-time Pro Bowler to join his third team after somewhat messy endings with the Kansas City Chiefs and Dolphins.

Chubb, 29, was an obvious cut candidate after his contract restructure last season, which led to an impending cap hit of $31.2 million in 2026.

The Dolphins, who also released wide receiver Nick Westbrook-Ikhine and offensive lineman James Daniels, will likely end up saving a grand total of $43 million ahead of 2026.

    What’s next?

Tua Tagovailoa, the club’s highest paid player, will need to be either released or traded in order for the organization to truly move forward with enough money to operate in a full rebuild. It’ll remain to be seen when/if that move happens.
