    Dom Taylor scored his 1,000th point (32 points, 10 rebounds, 9-for-9 free throws) as Somerset Berkley defeated Old Rochester, 71-53, in a South Coast Conference boys basketball matchup.

    In the Cape and Islands League, Gaven Smith led the way with 17 points as Nantucket toppled Cape Cod Tech 65-31. … Keith Chandler poured in 31 points with five steals and five boards as Lynn Tech routed Greater Lowell 81-51.

    Giulian Mariano erupted for 26 points and seven rebounds, Stephen Saber scored 14 of his 21 points in the fourth quarter, and Dover-Sherborn (8-7) rolled to a 78-54 Tri-Valley League win over Medfield. … Ethan Suhajda finished with 14 points and eight boards while Jack McDonald added 11 points as Holliston (11-5) edged out Hopkinton, 63-60.

    Junior Yhan Medina’s 27 points and sophomore Christian Raphael’s 16 points anchored Quincy (10-5) in a 64-54 win over Plymouth South in Patriot League action.

    Girls basketball

    In the Patriot League, Dylan Hurley recorded a game high 27 points while Maliah Pierre added 21 points to lead Whitman-Hanson to a 67-37 victory over Plymouth North. … Caroline Arruda had 18 points as Marshfield defeated Duxbury 53-42.

    Kennedy Halford scored 15 points as Sandwich rolled over Dennis-Yarmouth 61-38 in Cape and Islands League action. … In the Merrimack Valley Conference, Reaghan Maniscalco netted 17 points as Tewksbury took down Lowell 53-45.

    In the Tri-Valley League, Gabby Simulis scored 16 points and Teagan Resteghini recorded 12 points as Hopkinton (11-4) defeated Holliston, 58-37. … Norah Cataldo and Ashley Harrington each scored 13 points to lead Acton-Boxboro past Boston Latin for a 68-35 victory.
