New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye had another outstanding performance on Sunday, beating the Cleveland Browns 32-13.

Despite Cleveland’s pass rusher Myles Garrett sacking Maye five times, the 23-year-old quarterback still threw for 282 yards, three touchdowns and one interception.

Garrett has encountered numerous talented quarterbacks during his nine-year NFL career, and he believes that Maye is on the verge of becoming a great quarterback.

“I think he is a great human being,” Garrett said on Sunday, via Boston Herald’s Doug Kyed. “I think he is a good quarterback who is soon to be a great quarterback. I like how he’s grown. It’s nice to be a part of his journey. Hate to be on this end of it, but it’s nice to see how he’s leading his team. He’s helped them rebuild into what they are now. In a way, I’m proud of him, and I’m happy to see his success.”

Maye is only in his second NFL season, but he played like a veteran over the last five games, throwing for 1,241 yards and 10 touchdowns while recording just one interception.

The Patriots will face the Falcons this upcoming Sunday, and Maye won’t have an easy task ahead. Atlanta’s defense is allowing 149.1 passing yards per game this season.
