FOXBORO — The competition didn’t get any easier for Will Campbell in Sunday’s AFC Championship Game win, but the Patriots rookie left tackle performed better.
Campbell didn’t let up a sack in Sunday’s win, though he did allow a QB hit and hurry.
The 2025 fourth overall pick had allowed three total sacks in two previous playoff performances against the Chargers and Texans, per PFF.
“Thought he played better against a really good rusher,” head coach Mike Vrabel said of Campbell’s performance against Broncos outside linebacker Nik Bonitto. “We’ll need him to keep improving, excited that he has another week to do.”
Campbell allowed eight sacks in 16 games this season as a rookie.
His next test comes in two weeks against the Seahawks in Super Bowl LX, where he’ll face off against edge rushers DeMarcus Lawrence, Uchenna Nwosu, Boye Mafe and Derick Hall.
