The Patriots are heading into their second week of training camp, and we have a much better sense of where things stand on the depth chart.

Here’s an updated look at the Patriots’ 90-man roster battles:

    QUARTERBACK

Drake Maye, Joshua Dobbs, Ben Wooldridge

    • No surprises here through three practices, though Dobbs has struggled at time, and Wooldridge has made some decent passes. The biggest questions here are whether the Patriots are satisfied with Dobbs as their backup and Wooldridge as their third-string option. It still feels like the Patriots could use an upgrade in depth behind Maye.

    RUNNING BACK

Rhamondre Stevenson, Antonio Gibson, TreVeyon Henderson, Lan Larison, Terrell Jennings, Trayveon Williams

    • Stevenson was held out of the early portion of practice Saturday and was replaced by Gibson in the first-team unit, though Henderson, a rookie, did spell the veteran running back. Larison has been receiving more work than Jennings or Williams behind the top three backs.

    FULLBACK

    Brock Lampe

    • Lampe is the only traditional fullback on the roster, and he has seen time with the first-team offense. He’s an undrafted free agent to watch for the 53-man roster.

    WIDE RECEIVER

Stefon Diggs, Kayshon Boutte, Kyle Williams, Kendrick Bourne, Javon Baker, John Jiles, Jeremiah Webb

    Injured: Ja’Lynn Polk

    PUP: Mack Hollins

    • For now, the top two outside wide receivers are Diggs and Boutte, though Williams, a rookie, is making a push. It will be interesting to see where Hollins and Polk fit in when healthy. Hollins could push Boutte and Williams for the “X” receiver role. It’s unclear whether the new coaching staff views Polk as more of an outside or inside wide receiver.

    SLOT RECEIVER

DeMario Douglas, Efton Chism, Demeer Blankumsee

    • It definitely would not be a surprise if Polk is used as a slot receiver in his return to practice since depth is shallow at this position. Chism, a UDFA, was a standout during the spring but hasn’t made many highlights so far in training camp.

    TIGHT END

Hunter Henry, Jack Westover, Gee Scott Jr., CJ Dippre, Jaheim Bell

    PUP: Austin Hooper

    • Westover has been a regular presence in the starting offense, but that should change when Hooper returns. Still, if the Patriots were to keep three tight ends, Westover would be the favorite over Scott, Dippre and Bell.

    LEFT TACKLE

Will Campbell, Marcus Bryant, Yasir Durant

    PUP: Vederian Lowe

    • Lowe remains out while he recovers from injury on the PUP list. It would not be a surprise if he overtook Bryant, a seventh-round pick, as the team’s top backup left tackle in his return. Bryant does appear to be holding his own, however.

    RIGHT TACKLE

Morgan Moses, Demontrey Jacobs, Jack Conley

    • Jacobs has primarily played right tackle, though he did get some reps at left tackle on Friday. It appears he’s currently the team’s top swing tackle.

    LEFT GUARD

Cole Strange, Jared Wilson, Caedan Wallace, Tyrese Robinson, Mehki Butler

    • Strange is the current starter, though he’s receiving competition from Wilson, a rookie, and Wallace, a 2024 third-round pick, both of whom have seen reps with the first-team offense. This is the most open competition on the roster.

    RIGHT GUARD

Mike Onwenu, Sidy Sow, Layden Robinson

    • Given the fact that he started 11 games last season, it’s been a slight surprise to see Robinson buried on the third string. He had issues with penalties and pass protection last season, however, and was seemingly a favorite of Jerod Mayo.

    CENTER

Garrett Bradbury, Jared Wilson, Ben Brown

    • Wilson will have every opportunity to beat out Bradbury, but he’s currently the backup here.

    DEFENSIVE TACKLE

Milton Williams, Christian Barmore, Khyiris Tonga, Jeremiah Pharms Jr., Jaquelin Roy, Joshua Farmer, Isaiah Iton, Jahvaree Ritzie, David Olajiga

    • When the Patriots go big up front, it will be Williams, Barmore and Tonga in the middle of the defense. Farmer will likely make the roster as a 2025 fourth-round pick, leaving Pharms, Roy, Iton, Ritzie and Olajiga to battle it out for one or two spots.

    EDGE DEFENDER

Harold Landry, Keion White, K’Lavon Chaisson, Anfernee Jennings, Truman Jones, Bradyn Swinson, Elijah Ponder

    • Landry, White and Chaisson are the players receiving most first-team reps at outside linebacker/defensive end. Jennings and Jones have been regulars in the second-team unit.

    LINEBACKER

Robert Spillane, Christian Elliss, Jahlani Tavai, Jack Gibbens, Monty Rice, Marte Mapu, Cam Riley

    • So far, it looks like Spillane and Elliss will be the two starting linebackers. Tavai, who began the summer on the PUP list, still seems to be easing back into the defense. It’s a crowded group between Gibbens, Rice, Mapu and Riley, a UDFA, with all four of those players seemingly receiving equal opportunities.

    CORNERBACK

Christian Gonzalez, Carlton Davis III, Alex Austin, Miles Battle, D.J. James, Isaiah Bolden, Kobee Minor, Brandon Crossley

    • James is one of the under-the-radar players to watch. He had an interception earlier in camp and a pass breakup on Saturday. He could make the roster as the fourth outside cornerback as he provides competition for Battle, Bolden, Minor and Crossley.

    SLOT CORNERBACK

Marcus Jones, Marcellas Dial, Jordan Polk

    • Jones has still been working as the team’s top nickel cornerback. Dial and Polk are his top reserves inside.

    SAFETY

Kyle Dugger, Jabrill Peppers, Craig Woodson, Jaylinn Hawkins, Dell Pettus, Marcus Epps, Brenden Schooler

    • While Dugger and Peppers still look like starters, Woodson, a rookie, has been making a push early in camp. Epps currently looks buried behind Dugger, Peppers, Woodson and Hawkins. Schooler will make the roster as an All-Pro special-teamer, though he is working on the third-team defense.

    SPECIAL TEAMS

K Andres Borregales, P Bryce Baringer, LS Julian Ashby, K Parker Romo

    • Borregales is the favorite over Romo, but there’s still over a month before roster cuts.
