The New England Patriots got back on track in Week 4, and now they’re returning home.

The defending AFC champions, now 2-2 after a “season-defining win” in Buffalo, will face the 3-1 Las Vegas Raiders in Week 5 at Gillette Stadium.

This is the second straight year that New England is 2-2 through four weeks. Last season, they moved above .500 in Week 5 with a victory against the Bills. To match that progression in 2026, they’ll have to take down an upstart Raiders team.

The most positive development for the Patriots in Week 4 was Drake Maye and the offense returning to form. They put up 29 points and went throw-for-throw with perennial MVP candidate Josh Allen, as Maye won the game on a ridiculous touchdown to reserve wideout Efton Chism III — who was only in the game due to injuries.

Kirk Cousins and the Raiders, meanwhile, suffered their first loss of the season in Week 4 — but it wasn’t a disappointing effort. They fell 30-27 to the undefeated Kansas City Chiefs, fighting admirably before surrendering 20 points in the fourth quarter. New head coach Klint Kubiak, who just faced the Patriots in the Super Bowl as the Seahawks’ offensive coordinator, has quickly turned the franchise around as No. 1 pick Fernando Mendoza waits on the bench with Kirk Cousins under center.
