Jaylen Brown has spent his entire NBA life with the Boston Celtics. It’s been 10 years since they made him the third overall pick of the 2016 NBA Draft.

Brown has accomplished a lot during that decade, establishing himself as one of the best players in Celtics history. He’s made five All-Star teams, reached two NBA Finals and helped Boston win a championship in 2024, winning Eastern Conference Finals MVP and NBA Finals MVP that year.

Now, in the midst of his best season yet, Brown is starting to think about his legacy. The 29-year-old knows and appreciates the Celtics’ rich history, so leaving a mark on the team and the city is important to him.

“As you continue to progress throughout the journey, legacy is something that you think about. Legacy is something that stands out, and the best legacy that you believe is winning,” Brown told reporters after Sunday’s win over the Milwaukee Bucks.

“On top of winning, it’s also how you affected the community. Two things that I take pride in, being able to win basketball games, win a championship, hopefully more, and being able to affect my community in a positive way,” Brown added.

Brown has both of those bases covered. He’s already won a ring and still has plenty of time to win another. Boston wouldn’t have won its 18th banner without him.

As for helping the community, Brown is one of the most generous Celtics players when it comes to community service, giving back and helping those in need. He founded the 7uice Foundation and has been incredibly active with the local youth.

While Brown presumably still has plenty of basketball and hopefully a few championships left, he’s already built and continues to build a legacy that he can be proud of.
