New York Jets head coach Aaron Glenn still hasn’t won a game at the helm of Gang Green (0-6), but his job is not in danger, according to a new report from Zack Rosenblatt of The Athletic.

Rosenblatt relayed that Jets owner Woody Johnson isn’t getting in Glenn’s way and has entrusted Glenn to build up the Jets, a decision that came with a higher salary than Johnson paid former Jets head coach Robert Saleh (Saleh reportedly earned $5 million per year).

Glenn and the Jets are the only winless team remaining in the NFL, but Glenn isn’t panicking, as he’s continued to preach patience to his players.

Glenn is also well-equipped to deal with the pressures of the New York media, as he has years of experience playing in that market.

The Jets’ defense hasn’t been as effective as many people assumed it would be under Glenn, but at the end of the day, the personnel simply isn’t talented enough. Glenn showed during his time as defensive coordinator of the Detroit Lions that he can transform a defense, but it takes time. Also, it takes good players.

That’s where general manager Darren Mougey must continue to chip away and bring the right guys to New York.

It’s likely going to be a two- or three-year process for Glenn and Mougey to get this franchise back on a winning track, and it sounds like Johnson and the Jets’ upper management are willing to ride out the storm.
