TreVeyon Henderson finally broke out against the Cleveland Browns last week, rushing 10 times for 75 yards. This impressive display prompted offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels to praise the young running back’s talent.

“I don’t think it’s a secret that he’s fast and he does some really good things with the ball,” McDaniels said on Thursday, via Carlos A. Lopez. “I thought he made some really good runs. He fought through some contact. Excited to see him build on that and continue to grow.”

McDaniels wasn’t the only member of the Patriots who applauded Henderson’s performance. Head coach Mike Vrabel also shared his thoughts on the rookie running back’s efforts.

“He ran well out in space,” Vrabel said on Monday. “He made a good cut on one of those perimeter plays.”

The week before the Browns game, Henderson carried the ball twice for five yards against the Titans. His limited workload against Tennessee was concerning, especially considering the Titans allowed an average of 133.7 rushing yards per game before facing the Patriots.

Henderson’s performance against the Browns may have sparked something in him that is beneficial for a Patriots team in need of more running back production.

The 23-year-old running back may need to elevate his performance this Sunday against the Atlanta Falcons, especially since starting running back Rhamondre Stevenson missed practices on Wednesday and Thursday due to a toe injury.
