The 2025-26 Nordic Ski State Championships took place at Prospect Mountain in Vermont.
Mount Greylock emerged as the boys winner (28). The top finisher for the team was Patrick Holland, who finished in 19:49.9. Other Mounties finishing in the top 10 were Benjamin Mandel (7th) and Luke Irwin (8th). Rounding out the top five were Wahconah’s Beau Sanders, Concord-Carlisle’s Zachary Scopinich-Burgel, Newton South’s Dashiell Martin and Acton-Boxboro/Nashoba’s Matthew Krieger.
On the girls side, Mount Greylock also emerged victorious (31). Three Mountie skiers finished in the top 10, Lauren Miller (3rd), Josephine Bay (5th) and Bridget Holland (10th). The top skier was Brookline’s Leigh Niedick, who finished in 22:51.6. Teammate Rachael Strock was the runner-up, while Winchester’s Caroline Lanz finished fourth.
Boys basketball
In the South Coast Conference, Dom Taylor recorded 24 points with nine rebounds while Ryan Crook added 16 points and the go ahead basket with eight seconds left, to lead Somerset Berkley (11-6) to a 62-60 victory over Greater New Bedford.
Ben Clarkin had a double-double with 12 points and 14 boards as Lincoln-Sudbury took down Weston 64-59 in a Dual County League matchup.
In the Cape Ann League, Grant Neal poured in 16 points while Luke DiSilvio added 10 for a 78-38 win over Rockport. … Rayner Hernandez had a career-high 20 points with a pair of threes as Georgetown (14-4) edged North Reading 60-57. … Tanner Manning finished with a game-high 17 points to lead Ipswich past Triton, 62-49.
Brake Lombardi dropped 26 points and Vallon Jeanty chipped in with 12 as Nantucket outlasted Bourne 71-61 in nonleague play.
In the Patriot League, Yhan Medina (14 points), Malcom Mcmorrow (14 points), Jaethen Pinet (13 points), and Arber Beqaj (12 points) paced Quincy to a 74-45 victory over Scituate.
In the Tri-Valley League, Giulian Mariano dropped 20 points while Stephen Saber scored 16 as Dover-Sherborn (10-8) defeated Bellingham, 72-55. … Sophomore Nick Flannery collected 21 points and eight rebounds as Holliston topped Norwood 65-53.
In Merrimack Valley Conference action, Aiden Walter and Brian Donovan scored 16 points apiece while Collin Christiansen chipped in with 14 points to lead Lowell to a 71-56 victory over Haverhill.
Tyler Staiti sank 45 points and had 8 rebounds to propel Abington to an 86-79 win over Mashpee.
Girls basketball
Rowan Murphy netted 12 points as Greater Lowell (4-11) came back from a 19-9 halftime deficit to take down Shawsheen 37-23 in the Commonwealth Athletic Conference. .
In the Cape and Islands League, Paige Morisson (12 points) and Emma Grady (11 points) led the way as Sandwich (15-2) rolled over Martha’s Vineyard 54-22.
Bella Nicoli scored 16 points to pace Cardinal Spellman to a 51-45 victory over nonleague opponent West Bridgewater. … Camden Strandberg notched 20 points and Ashley Varnum added 18 as Bridgewater-Raynham defeated Barnstable 46-25.
Izzy Santiago had 16 points as Acton-Boxboro doubled up Concord-Carlisle 64-32 in Dual County League action.
In a Cape Ann League matchup, Sophie Gallivan tallied 17 points, eight rebounds, and six assists while Kayla Berry added nine points and three rebounds as North Reading defeated Georgetown 60-34. … Devyn Walsh had 12 points and Chloe Dancewicz scored 10 points to propel Pentucket to a 49-19 victory over Hamilton-Wenham.
In a Tri-Valley League game, Abbie Rabinovich finished with 18 points while Teagan Resteghini added 15 points as Hopkinton edged Ashland, 45-43.
Dylan Hurley scored 15 points while Maliah Pierre added 13 points to lead Whitman-Hanson past Duxbury, 48-36 in Patriot League action.
Addy Andrews recorded 18 points to lift Cohasset past Carver, 57-42, in South Shore League action.
In a Catholic Central League game, Mollie Mullen netted 24 points with six 3s and eight steals to boost Bishop Feehan past Bishop Fenwick, 38-16.

Hannah D’Angelo tallied a hat trick for Pembroke (14-2), pacing the attack to anchor a 4-1 win over Norwell/Scituate/Abington in Patriot League play.
