Anthony Davis has been the subject of a lot of trade speculation over the past few weeks, with the Dallas Mavericks reportedly looking to move AD and continue to build around Cooper Flagg moving forward.

Davis’s injury situation has apparently stifled his market, however. According to a new report from NBA insider Jake Fischer, even two of AD’s recent suitors, the Toronto Raptors and Atlanta Hawks, have drawn back their interest.

“It’s a struggle, frankly, to find any active trade scenarios involving Davis at the minute,” Fischer wrote on Thursday (subscription required).

“In recent days, both the Atlanta Hawks and Toronto Raptors — teams previously described as the most ardent Davis suitors — have been signaling that they are no longer involved in significant trade talks with the Mavericks. The interest in Davis has seemed to cool since last week’s announcement that the 32-year-old will be sidelined for at least six weeks due to ligament damage in his left hand.”

Through 20 games with the Mavs this year, AD is averaging 20.4 points, 11.1 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 1.1 steals, and 1.7 blocks per game, shooting 50.6 percent from the field.

Davis has continued to show flashes of dominance when healthy, including a season-high 35 points and 17 rebounds in a December 22 loss to the New Orleans Pelicans. He followed with strong outings, like 26 points, 12 rebounds, and five blocks against the Houston Rockets on January 3, making him only the second Maverick to achieve that stat line multiple times. In a January 6 win over the Sacramento Kings, he tallied 19 points and 16 rebounds.

He’s been sidelined since January 8 with the finger injury. On January 13, reports confirmed no surgery needed, with a re-evaluation in six weeks, keeping him out through late February.
