Former New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick is currently struggling with a 3-5 record at North Carolina, which may lead him to consider a return to the NFL.
NFL writer Gary Myers, who covered the league for various outlets, including The Dallas Morning News and New York Daily News, and authored a book on Bill Belichick and Tom Brady, believes Belichick would be interested in the Giants’ head coaching job.
“I think Belichick would take the job in a second,” Myers said when Ed Valentine asked him on Wednesday if Belichick would take the Giants head coaching job during “Valentine Views”.
The Giants currently don’t have an opening for a head coach, as Brian Daboll remains at the helm. However, with a disappointing 2-7 record, it’s likely that if the Giants don’t turn things around soon, he may find himself searching for a new job.
Belichick had a stint with the Giants from 1985 to 1990, serving as the team’s defensive coordinator.

It would be interesting to see Belichick return to the NFL and coach the Giants, but New York would need to show genuine interest in him for it to work. Given how Belichick had to coach in North Carolina this season, there might not be much NFL interest left for him now.
