Safe to say the kid is special.

After an unreal 2024 college campaign and a good meeting with the Patriots, star WR/DB Travis Hunter could be a realistic option for the New England Patriots with the fourth overall pick in this year’s draft.

The team needs a true alpha at WR, and Hunter could be exactly that. Plus, with the second cornerback position seeming to be up for grabs, Hunter could fill right in there as well. Hunter raved on how Patriots coach Mike Vrabel was jawing to him, in a fun way.

Vrabel told Hunter, “You aren’t the only one to play both ways.” In his playing days, Vrabel was a linebacker, but he played a bit of tight end/fullback on special occasions.

To top off this fun parallel, earlier this year, Hunter said while on stream:

“Trav and Drake Maye… that would be tough.”

The Patriots’ number one priority is the trenches. The team seems to plan to handle that in free agency, so the draft has more flexibility.

With the fourth overall pick, the value must match the pick number.

The top three picks seem to be trending towards two quarterbacks being selected, which could leave Hunter right in the palms of the Patriots. He would instantly become the team’s number one receiving option. On the defensive side, the team would have him and Christian Gonzalez as a defensive back duo.

Not only would Travis Hunter would put butts in seats, but he’d give the team accurate firepower at two positional needs and possibly give this franchise an aura we have never seen before.
