    The New England Patriots are generating some playoff buzz, but they would shock the world by making a serious run at the Super Bowl in Mike Vrabel’s first season as head coach. They may instead watch a familiar foe pursue a long-eluded Lombardi Trophy.

    Peter Schrager successfully predicted the Super Bowl winner six straight times before finally faltering last year. His remarkable run ended when picking the Kansas City Chiefs to defeat the Green Bay Packers before the 2024 season.

    Now working for ESPN, the former NFL Network analyst will attempt to start a new streak with a different champion. For the first time in 10 years, Schrager picked a team other than the Patriots or Chiefs to win the AFC.

    “I am taking the Buffalo Bills out of the AFC,” Schrager said. “It is time. It is time. Josh Allen finally breaks through, and Josh Allen seizes that crown from the Chiefs.”

    The Philadelphia Eagles thwarted Schrager’s success by dominating the Chiefs in the last Super Bowl, so he has them defending their NFC crown. That means Pats fans must watch their AFC East adversary play a franchise that beat New England in Super LII.

    Schrager predicted the Bills will obtain their first Super Bowl triumph. His colleagues, Dan Orlovsky, Field Yates and Jason McCourty, each picked the Baltimore Ravens to win the championship.

    “For the first time in this franchise’s history, the Buffalo Bills are winning Super Bowl LX out in Santa Clara,” Schrager declared. “The Bills will beat the Eagles.”

    The Bills are heavily favored to win their sixth consecutive division title following a 13-4 season. Only the Ravens (+650) and Eagles (+700) have better odds of winning the Super Bowl than Buffalo (+750) on FanDuel Sportsbook, but the Chiefs have eliminated the Bills from four of the last five postseasons.

    Buffalo begins the season with a huge AFC Divisional Round rematch against Baltimore this Sunday night.
