Patriots running back Terrell Jennings and rookie defensive tackle Joshua Farmer will not be activated off injured reserve ahead of Sunday’s AFC Championship Game against the Broncos.
Jennings cleared concussion protocol and was a full participant in practice all week. Farmer was also a full participant in practice this week before being ruled out Saturday afternoon.
The Patriots will likely elevate running back D’Ernest Johnson off injured reserve to provide depth behind Rhamondre Stevenson and rookie TreVeyon Henderson. The Patriots already have a full complement of defensive tackles in Milton Williams, Christian Barmore, Khyiris Tonga, Cory Durden and Leonard Taylor III, who will also likely be elevated off the practice squad.
Jennings has 23 carries for 73 yards with a touchdown in seven games this season. He also caught one 9-yard pass and returned two kicks for 59 yards.
Farmer, a 2025 fourth-round pick, registered 15 tackles with one fumble recovery and one tackle for loss in 13 games.
The Patriots did not rule out wide receiver Mack Hollins (abdomen), who is also on IR. That indicates that Hollins at least made the trip to Denver with the rest of his Patriots teammames.
Hollins returned to practice Thursday and was a full participant in Friday’s session.
