The New England Patriots are trading Wide Receiver Kayshon Boutte to the Houston Texans in exchange for Safety Jaylen Reed and a 2028 seventh-round draft pick, 7NEWS sources confirmed Monday.

The third-year wide receiver, who was drafted by the Patriots in the sixth round of the 2023 NFL Draft, will now take his talents to another AFC contending team.

Boutte became a popular downfield target for Quarterback Drake Maye, but with the off-season additions of Wide Receivers AJ Brown and Romeo Doubs, his time in Foxboro comes to an end in the final year of his rookie contract.

The 24-year-old finishes his Patriots career with 1,159 yards and nine touchdowns.

The NFL’s 53-man roster cutdown deadline is August 30.
