The Baltimore Ravens are moving on from head coach John Harbaugh, according to a new report from ESPN’s Adam Schefter. Harbaugh was the NFL’s second-longest tenured head coach behind Mike Tomlin of the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Ravens were 8-9 this season and missed the playoffs.

In 18 seasons at the helm in Baltimore, Harbaugh went 180-113 with a 13-11 postseason record and a Super Bowl championship (XLVII). His eight playoff road victories are the most by a head coach in NFL history.

Harbaugh is about to become a hot commodity on the coaching market, according to Schefter. “John Harbaugh now is expected to become the top head-coaching candidate in this hiring cycle, per multiple league sources,” Schefter wrote on Tuesday. “Multiple teams now are expected to be interested in hiring him, and his presence is expected to have big ramifications.”

Since the Ravens’ first season (1996), Baltimore has had just three head coaches. Harbaugh, Brian Billick, and Ted Marchibroda.
