By the end of the summer, Kristian Campbell was largely a forgotten man, which is both a testament to how fast things can change in baseball and how crazy the roster turnover was with the 2025 Red Sox. But now is probably a good time to remember that the Red Sox believed in him enough in April to hand him a $60 million contract and that he’s likely going to be in the mix in some capacity going forward.

For this reason, Tim Healey’s note about the Red Sox trying to find one set position for Campbell going forward is noteworthy. Particularly if that position is in the outfield where the Red Sox already have Roman Anthony, Ceddanne Rafaela, Jarren Duran and Wilyer Abreu. If Campbell is also going to become a full time outfielder instead of being a solution to the sea of question marks in the infield, the over / under on how many outfielders get traded this winter might be 1.5.

Talk about this and whatever else you’d like here in this open thread, and as always, be good to one anther!
