The Red Sox are pulling out all the stops as they kick off their final home stand before the All-Star break.

Boston will deploy their southpaw specialists against yet another left-hander in Monday’s series opener with the visiting Colorado Rockies.

In part due to players like Rob Refsnyder and Romy Gonzalez, the Red Sox have stronger collected splits against lefty starters this year. Though the southpaw sample size is significantly smaller, there’s a noteworthy gap; in 1,002 team plate appearances against lefty starters, the offense is slashing .276/.345/.474. In 2,518 PA against righty starters, they’re managing a .245/.316/.407 line.

Four players in Monday’s lineup have batting averages of .312 or better and slugging .500 or higher against lefty starters: Carlos Narváez (.338), Abraham Toro (.333), Refsnyder (.316), and Ceddanne Rafaela (.312). Jarren Duran, who’s hitting .304 and slugging .490 in such situations, is notably absent from the lineup.
