If Al Horford leaves the Boston Celtics, it likely will be to sign with a team he feels has a better chance to contend for a championship during the 2025-26 campaign.
Fortunately for Horford, many of those teams reportedly are showing interest in the veteran big man.
“Al Horford has received interest from several contending teams since the start of free agency,” Hoops Hype’s Michael Scotto reported Monday night.
The Golden State Warriors, New York Knicks, Denver Nuggets, Cleveland Cavaliers and Los Angeles Lakers all have shown interest in Horford, per Scotto. The Celtics have as well, which isn’t much of a surprise given the recent sentiments from Celtics president of basketball operations Brad Stevens.
Fellow NBA insiders Marc Stein and Jake Fischer reported Horford is a “top target” for the Warriors.

The league’s legal tampering period opened at 6 p.m. ET on Monday night. However, impending free agents like Horford aren’t officially allowed to sign with teams before free agency begins Sunday.
