Updated depth chart after trade deadline – NBC Boston

Craig Breslow and the Boston Red Sox made a handful of noteworthy changes to their roster before Monday’s MLB trade deadline.

Boston’s biggest splash was acquiring All-Star catcher Adley Rutschman from the Baltimore Orioles in exchange for catcher Carlos Narvaez, three of their top five prospects, and a player to be named later. The Sox also received catcher Jake Rogers in the deal.

Shortly after adding Rutschman, they traded minor-league right-hander Tyler Uberstine to the Atlanta Braves for outfielder Eli White and sent former top shortstop prospect Marcelo Mayer to the San Francisco Giants for lefty reliever Erik Miller. Let’s also not forget that Breslow got an early start to the deadline, shipping rookie southpaw Connelly Early to the Washington Nationals in exchange for infielder Curtis Mead last week.
