FORT MYERS, Fla. — One of the Red Sox’s top offseason acquisitions is set to make his club debut today.
Sonny Gray will take the mound for the first time in a Red Sox uniform this afternoon when the club hosts the Minnesota Twins at JetBlue Park. Gray was acquired from the St. Louis Cardinals earlier this winter and is expected to be among the club’s top starters alongside Garrett Crochet and Ranger Suarez in 2026.
Garrett Whitlock, Connelly Early, T.J. Sikkema, Vinny Nittoli, Noah Song and Jacob Webb are all expected to pitch for the Red Sox as well.
Saturday’s lineup features most of the projected Opening Day lineup, including both Roman Anthony and Ceddanne Rafaela, who were involved in a scary collision on Friday but who Alex Cora said are both feeling good today.
Caleb Durbin is starting at third base and Nick Sogard will start at second, and Jarren Duran will get a break from the outfield as the designated hitter.
Saturday’s game will not be televised on NESN but will be carried by WHDH in Boston and on different local stations in other New England markets. NESN will stream the game on NESN 360 and the radio broadcast will be carried by WEEI 93.7 FM.
