Tom Brady is just as fascinated as everyone else to watch Bill Belichick’s shift to college football.

The NFL’s most iconic quarterback-coach duo won six Super Bowls over their 20 seasons together with the New England Patriots, but they’re both working different jobs in 2025. While Brady returns to FOX’s broadcasting booth for a second season, Belichick will coach at the University of North Carolina.

Nobody knows if Belichick will excel in the ACC, but Brady can at least offer Tar Heels players some insight into their new head coach. Brady discussed what Belichick’s new squad can expect on “The Joel Klatt Show.”

“I’m very interested, too, as well,” Brady said of Belichick’s college transition. “What they’re gonna get is, obviously, the most prepared, the most hardworking coach that I’ve ever been around. If you go to that school, you will be prepared to play at the next level. He’s going to teach you the right fundamentals, the right techniques. He’s going to have a high expectation for you, and you’re gonna develop a lot. That’s what I know.”

Brady is also curious about how Belichick handles the college setting. He wondered how the 73-year-old would adjust to teaching younger, undeveloped players.

“There’s probably a learning curve for him,” Brady added. “And this is me hypothesizing. I don’t have much knowledge of it, but I’m sure it’s different coaching a 17- or 18-year-old than even a 22- or 23-year-old.”

Brady questioned whether college athletes have the time or capacity to keep up with Belichick’s rigorous preparation.

“He watches so much film,” Brady said. “He is so smart with how he approaches defensive schemes and offensive schemes, and how much can these young kids retain? That may be an interesting challenge as well. Because, in some ways, they’re not professionals.”

Most of Belichick’s new players weren’t born when he and Brady hoisted New England’s first Lombardi Trophy on Feb. 2, 2002. Belichick must reach a younger generation to revive a UNC program that went 6-7 last season.

Belichick will make his college coaching debut when North Carolina faces TCU on Monday, Sept. 1.
