The New York Yankees are stuck in one of those ruts…

It’s bad enough that they’ve lost six-consecutive games following Saturday’s dismantling at the hands of the New York Mets, but they also have their struggling players nearly blinding their superstar.

    No, seriously.

Aaron Judge, the club’s perennial MVP candidate who entered the weekend slashing .365/.474/.740 with 32 home runs and 71 RBIs, was left bleeding after he was struck in the face by an errant throw by teammate Anthony Volpe on Saturday.

Volpe, about to enter the dugout following the fourth inning, launched a throw in the direction of Judge, who wasn’t paying attention and got drilled in the eye — breaking his sunglasses and slightly cutting him open.

“I didn’t know what happened initially,” Yankees manager Aaron Boone said following the game, per Dan Martin of The New York Post. “I just saw what felt like something happened. Of course I was concerned. [Judge] had a little cut. In the end, I don’t think it’s anything too serious. Initially, obviously very concerned.”

The Post published pictures of the cut, which required a bandage. SNY posted the video of the instance.

New York, as we previously mentioned, is in the middle of a brutal stretch. The Yankees have one just three games since June 22, slipping to second place in the American League East.

Judge said he was fine after the game, though, so that’s nice.
