FOXBORO — Patriots rookie starting left tackle Will Campbell had a profane reaction when he first suffered a knee injury last month against the Bengals.

It’s a four-letter word that starts with an F. We’ll let you figure it out on your own.

But Campbell was excited for his return to practice on Wednesday, the first day he could be back on the practice field after being placed on injured reserve four weeks ago.

“Been working hard over these past couple of weeks, just trying to get back,” Campbell said. “So to be able to finally get back out there today, I’m excited.”

The 2025 first-round pick said Wednesday that these are the first games he’s ever missed due to injury in his life.

“I was miserable,” Campbell said. “It obviously isn’t fun, but it’s a part of this game. And just tried to attack the rehab process and get better.”

The rookie was asked if he’d like to take snaps in Week 18 against the Dolphins before the postseason begins the following week.

“That’s not my call. I’m worried about one thing, and that’s in 30 minutes (at practice),” Campbell said. “We’ll see how that goes. And then after that, we’ll worry about tomorrow, and then Friday and so on and so forth.”

Vederian Lowe has been filling in for Campbell at left tackle. The Patriots have gone 3-1 in the LSU product’s absence.
