Boston Red Sox rising star Kristian Campbell turned a ton of heads on Sunday.

Suiting up for the Triple-A Worcester Red Sox, Campbell blasted a 363-foot home run to left field. The home run had an exit velocity of 97 miles per hour. Per Beyond the Monster, Campbell went 2-for-3 in Worcester’s 6-3 loss and is now batting .268/ .402/. 428 over 169 plate appearances with Worcester.

Despite starting the 2025 season with the major league club and performing well enough to earn American League Rookie of the Month honors for March/April, Campbell was demoted on June 20 after a prolonged slump.

Now, it looks like Campbell is getting his swagger back at the plate. Campbell has gone 24-for-67 (.358) with six extra-base hits since July 19. He’s also getting more comfortable at first base.

On Sunday, Robbie Hyde, host of the “Monster Territory” podcast, gave an exciting Campbell assessment.

“He’s been looking extremely comfortable as of late,” Hyde said. “Wouldn’t be surprised to see him back up soon.”

Campbell is one of the most gifted players in Boston’s organization, and his recent uptick in production has provided another indication of his potential. With Campbell beginning to regain his mojo in the minors and Abraham Toro trending downward at the plate, some Red Sox fans are asking for Campbell to be promoted once again.

Although Campbell has been getting first base reps with Worcester, he still doesn’t have big league experience at the position. If he were promoted before the end of the season, it’s more likely that Campbell would play second base upon his return.

If Campbell keeps mashing, Boston’s management might be faced with a difficult decision.
