Turnovers and a rough third quarter cost the Boston Celtics in their 112-102 loss to the Atlanta Hawks on Monday night.
The C’s turned it over 15 times in total and were outscored 36-22 in the third quarter. They were without Jayson Tatum (right Achilles repair reconditioning) and Neemias Queta (right thumb sprain) on the second night of their back-to-back.
Jaylen Brown returned from a two-game absence and dropped a team-high 29 points, though he shot just 9-of-29 from the floor and had six turnovers. Luka Garza was a bright spot with 20 points in Queta’s spot.
Atlanta evened the season series at 2-2 with its win, which avenged its Friday loss to Boston. The C’s will look to bounce back Wednesday in Miami.
