The Boston Red Sox have struggled since trading Rafael Devers to the San Francisco Giants, going 3-5 on their West Coast road trip entering Wednesday’s series finale against the Los Angeles Angels. Not surprisingly, the Red Sox offense has scuffled without its best hitter, averaging 3.25 runs per game without Devers compared to 4.84 runs per game with him. A big reason for Boston’s funk is its failure to effectively replace Devers in the two-hole, which is supposed to be one of the most productive spots in the lineup. According to Tyler Milliken of “98.5 The Sports Hub,” Red Sox…

Whaddya know, the Red Sox are trying to avoid a sweep against the Angels again! And today Richard (aka Dick) Fitts returns to the mound after his stint on the IL. If he’s bad or mid, the Sox bats will need to support him, which they weren’t able to do for Crochet yesterday. Angel Stadium doesn’t have a Pesky Pole for Ceddane Rafaela to get a clutch homer off of, so the Sox will have to figure out another way to win. Fun fact: I am currently in Nova Scotia and can barely believe that there is a place more…
Don Sweeney could not predict whether he would be involved in any trades going into the Friday’s first round of the NHL draft, but the Bruins’ GM made it clear he’s on the hunt. After the fire sale at the trade deadline, the B’s go into Friday with the No. 7 overall pick and two second-rounders this year, as well as two first-rounders in 2026 and 2027. That’s draft capital the B’s have not had in recent years. Whether Sweeney can turn it into a real live NHL player for the here and now remains to be seen. “(The team’s…

Aaron Rodgers spent about four minutes Tuesday on a regularly scheduled appearance on “The Pat McAfee Show ripping into speculation that he has conjured a fake marriage and a fake wife after he recently dropped the bombshell claim that he had secretly wed a woman whose identity remains a mystery. ‘It’s a sick society, isn’t it? I lived in the public eye for 20 years, I had public relationships,” the veteran 41-year-old NFL quarterback began his tirade, according to the Daily Mail. He was no doubt referring to his past high-profile romances with actors Olivia Munn and Shailene Woodley and…
Robert Kraft does not plan on selling. The Boston Celtics and Los Angeles Lakers are in a different league entirely, but after they collectively sold for an approximate $16 billion during the first half of 2025, people started to wonder whether or not other iconic franchises could be thrown on the market. ESPN’s Adam Schefter floated the idea by the longtime owner of the New England Patriots in an exclusive interview at Fanatics Fest in New York City, and his response helped put any grand ideas to rest. “It’s nice, but to me, it’s like your house going up in…
Boston Celtics president of basketball operations Brad Stevens has been working the phones over the last 24 hours, and he isn’t done yet. After trading Jrue Holiday and Kristaps Porzingis to get under the second apron of the luxury tax, Stevens still has multiple items on his to-do list. For one, he’ll likely aim to shed more salary to clear room for much-needed frontcourt help, perhaps one of his pending free agents Al Horford or Luke Kornet. Secondly, he’ll navigate the team through the 2025 NBA Draft. The Celtics currently own the 28th and 32nd overall picks in the draft,…
Drake Maye got his first ring Saturday. One down. Six to go. Super Bowls. Not wives. Patriots fans still dream about another ring in February. They’re just not sure in which year. Tom Brady and Gisele Bündchen were once the world’s sexiest couple. At least inside I-495. We saw how that worked out. The sun set on “Camelot.” And Lancelot doubled as a karate instructor. Too much time with the karate instructor is never a good thing. Unless it’s Mr. Miyagi. Happy days no more. Bill Belichick and Jordon Hudson cornered the market on grotesque relationship dysfunction. They’ve mercifully fallen…
Brace yourself, Celtics fans: Franchise-altering trades could be just around the corner. Boston stunned the basketball world this week when it reportedly dealt Jrue Holiday to the Portland Trail Blazers and Kristaps Porzingis to the Atlanta Hawks. The details of the two trades — including compensation and financial ramifications — are complicated but the most important thing is the Celtics now are under the second apron, the NBA’s crippling salary cap threshold. And Brad Stevens might not be done dealing. During a Tuesday night appearance on “SportsCenter with Scott Van Pelt”, ESPN NBA insider Shams Charania reported the Celtics were…
