The New England Patriots have high hopes for their 2025 campaign, and that’s due in large part to second-year quarterback Drake Maye. While things didn’t go his way in 2024 as a rookie, there’s reason to believe things will be different during his sophomore campaign. After being selected with the No. 3 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, Maye initially started the year on the bench before eventually being handed the keys to the offense. In 13 games, he threw for 2,276 yards and 15 touchdowns, while also rushing for 421 yards and another pair of scores. That Maye…

Boston Red Sox ace Garrett Crochet’s quest for a Cy Young Award received a boost in the latest starting pitcher power rankings. MLB.com’s Andrew Simon pegged Crochet at No. 7 in the majors, up one spot from the previous ranking. “This is why Boston gave up a prospect haul to acquire Crochet from the White Sox over the offseason,” Simon wrote Thursday. “One year after making a successful transition to the starting rotation in Chicago, the 6-foot-6 lefty with a 2.26 ERA now leads the Majors in innings (115 1/3) and strikeouts (144). “He ranks third in K’s on each…
Rafael Devers’ absence from the Boston Red Sox lineup has been glaring since his shocking departure, but the veteran slugger hasn’t been himself with the San Francisco Giants. Devers has cooled off considerably since homering against his former team on June 21. Through 15 games with San Francisco, he has slashed .203/.299/.356 with two homers and six RBI. He has struck out an MLB-leading 25 times in that span. Both the Red Sox (6-9) and Giants (5-10) have struggled since the blockbuster deal, but Boston has actually averaged more runs per game (4.53) than San Francisco (3.33) without the three-time…
Typically sports teams only meet the president after they’ve won a championship, but several members of the Red Sox found themselves in the Oval Office on Thursday just the same. According to a video posted by Margo Martin, a special assistant to the president and communications advisor, members of the Red Sox were invited into the Oval Office to meet President Donald J. Trump. The video shows Justin Wilson, Abraham Toro, Romy Gonzalez, Connor Wong, Greg Weissert, Wilyer Abreu, Garrett Whitlock, Brennan Bernardino and Rob Refsnyder shaking the president’s hand. Trevor Story appears in the video as well. President @realDonaldTrump…
