The Boston Celtics have finally cooled off over the last week, but Jaylen Brown hasn’t.

Despite losing their last two games, the Celtics are still 6-3 over their last nine games. Brown has been exceptional during that run, scoring at least 30 points in eight of those games.

In the one game where he didn’t, he posted a triple-double.

Over his last nine games, Brown is averaging 32.7 points, 7.0 rebounds and 6.4 assists per game while shooting 49.5 percent from the floor, 38.9 percent from beyond the arc and 76.5 percent from the charity stripe.

Brown’s played stellar defense as well, averaging 1.4 steals and 0.8 blocks per game during that span.

The 29-year-old wing has been phenomenal all season, stepping up in Jayson Tatum’s absence. He’s really hit his stride over the last few weeks, however, playing at an MVP level on a nightly basis and forcing his way into the MVP conversation for the first time in his career.

With Boston surging into contention in the Eastern Conference, people around the league are taking notice. With Brown averaging personal highs in numerous categories, he’s been a big reason for the Celtics’ success this season.

If the last two months have proven anything, it’s that Brown is more than capable of carrying a team by himself. That was in question before Tatum went down, but he’s quashed those concerns with some of the best basketball of his career.

Brown’s scored at least 30 points in five straight games — his longest streak of the season. He’ll try to keep it going on Friday against the Miami Heat at home.
