The Boston Celtics finished their four-game road trip Wednesday on the second night of a back-to-back, and they looked like a tired team in Denver.
They kept it close throughout the first half, but fell apart in the third quarter as the Nuggets outscored them 30-19 in the frame. Denver pulled away with a 15-0 run from the end of the third into the fourth, and it snapped Boston’s four-game win streak with a 103-84 triumph.
The C’s shot just 35 percent from the field, including an uncharacteristic 12-for-43 (28 percent) from 3-point range. Jaylen Brown (23 points) and Derrick White (20 points) were the bright spots offensively.
Three-time NBA MVP Nikola Jokic led the way for the Nuggets with 30 points, 12 rebounds, and six assists.
The Celtics will look to bounce back Friday night when they return to TD Garden to face the Brooklyn Nets.
