Jrue Holiday continues to be floated in trade speculation with the Boston Celtics expected to cut salary and try to better balance their books.
That’s nothing new.
A new development, however, is Holiday’s potential inclusion in a blockbuster trade also involving Phoenix Suns superstar Kevin Durant. But that’s not to say it will be a 1-for-1 swap, though Durant reportedly would welcome such opportunity in Boston.
“The focus, for me, is on Jrue Holiday,” NBA insider Zach Lowe said on “The Zach Lowe Show.” “I think there are even — I’ve heard there have been at least very broad discussions of three-team Durant-related trades where Jrue Holiday is … moved somewhere.”
Lowe added those types of talks could be a product of Phoenix trying to drive up trade interest for Durant. There still is something to those rumors, though.

“Just like he was the shrapnel in the Dame (Damian Lillard) trade and ended up in Boston — I’m just interested,” Lowe said of Holiday.
Holiday has at least two years left on the four-year, $134.4 million deal he signed with the Celtics with a $37 million player option in 2027-28. And while the 35-year-old guard was a pivotal piece to Boston’s success, the Green need to make some financially-based decisions this offseason.
